Sub-Categories

The three sub-categories, under which such a person might have a chance to migrate to Saskatchewan, are:

Employment Offer Stream

If a potential immigrant is a skilled worker, and has an employment offer from an employer who’s qualified for it, in Saskatchewan, the Employment Offer Stream could provide them with the perfect opportunity.

To get qualified under this stream, an applicant would have to meet the below mentioned requirements:

  • They must have had at least a year long experience in their intended occupation, anywhere in the previous ten years.
  • They must be language proficient, demonstrated through a minimum of CLB 4.
  • A proof of license eligibility would have to be provided by the applicant, in case the intended occupation of the applicant is a compulsory apprenticeship trade. The eligibility of license would be checked under an appropriate regulatory body of the province.
  • The offered job should have been classified as NOC level A, B, or 0.
  • The applicant must also provide a Job Approval Letter, which would prove the fact that they’ve been had an offer of a full-time and permanent job in Saskatchewan.
  • As for the SINP points grid, the applicant should be able to score either equal to, or greater than 60 points.
    • Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) point assessment grid:
Connection to Saskatchewan and adaptability – 30 points
      Work experience – 15 points
Education and training – 23 points
      Language ability – 20 points
      Age – 12 points
    • As the points system shows clearly, it is the Saskatchewan connection which makes up for the maximum number of points in the grid. So, if the applicant has a relative, a close one, like a sibling, parent, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, or cousin living in the province, they would be credited with 20 points immediately.

Occupations In-Demand Stream

Now, if an applicant does not have a job offer from an employer in the province they might still get the opportunity to permanently work and settle here, if they prove they’re highly skilled in any of the in-demand occupations in Saskatchewan.

In order for them to apply through the Occupations In-Demand Stream, an applicant will have to fulfill the following requirements:

  • They must have spent a year or more, any time in the previous ten years, working in an occupation that is related to their education or training they undertook. Their past job should have been a skilled one, considered an NOC level A, B, or 0, and also be categorized as an in-demand occupation by Immigration Saskatchewan.
  • They should be proficient enough to score a CLB4 or higher in language test.
  • Under the SINP grid, the applicant should be able to score 60 or more points.
  • The applicant must have finished a year of training, or a post-secondary education resulting in a certificate, diploma, or a degree, equivalent to Canadian education.
  • A viable settlement plan would have to be submitted by the applicant, which shows they have sufficient fund to settle themselves in the province.
  • A licensing proof will have to be submitted by the applicant, which should be checked under a local regulatory body, in case the proposed job mandatorily requires licensing.

Saskatchewan Express Entry Stream

This sub-category caters to those applicants who are skilled workers, while being in the pool of candidates for the CIC Express Entry System.

The following are the requirements that the applicant would need to cater to, for them to acquire eligibility:

  • An applicant must have been accepted into the Express Entry Pool of Canada, have a distinct profile number, in addition to a job seeker validation code. The profile itself should also be completely, accurately filled, and up-to-date.
  • The post-secondary education of the applicant should have been completed, and earned him a diploma, a certificate, or a degree in the end.
  • The applicant’s SINP grid should obtain a score of a minimum of 60 points out of a 100.
  • The applicant must be proficient enough when it comes to language testing, and prove it through valid test scores from a proper testing agency.
  • A valid settlement plan would have to be submitted by the applicant, which proves they have enough funds to realistically live permanently in the province.
  • If the applicant has a profession – a skilled one, though not the trades – they should have at least a year of experience, working, anytime in the previous 10 years.
  • If they are into one of the skilled trades, they would need to have worked for at least 2 years, anytime within the previous 5 years.
  • If the applicant has a year of experience, working at a highly skilled job, that has an NOC level of A, B, or 0, and is also an in-demand occupation in the Saskatchewan, their prerequisite for work experience will be met, irrespective of whether they have a trade or a non-trade job.
  • If the applicant’s job requires special licensing in the province, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program will need them to obtain that, under a valid local regulatory body.
