Types of Employer-Sponsored Visa

Temporary Visa

The most sought-after type of temporary visa is subclass 457, sometimes known as the Business Long Stay Visa. Employers may nominate many individuals for various positions under a single application. Professionals and skilled workers are the only ones eligible for these sponsored visas.

An employer for recruiting a group of skilful personnel might apply for ‘Labour Agreements’. Permanent Visa

Visa Subclass

Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186)

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Subclass 186 visa is a permanent residency visa for overseas skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian employer to work in Australia.

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) 187 visa is a permanent residence visa for those international skilled workers, nominated by an Australian employer to work in regional Australia (excluding Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Wollongong and Brisbane).

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482)

The Temporary Skill Shortage Visa Subclass 482 aims to address the shortage of the skilled workers for the employers who are unable to source the suitable talent amongst Australians by allowing recruitment of overseas pool of talent. In the process, it makes sure that the Australian workers are first preference.

Skilled Employer Sponsored Visa (Subclass 494)

One of the visas that have come into effect is the Australian Skilled Employer Sponsored (Regional) Visa - subclass 494. It has replaced RSMS Visa - subclass 187. The new visa is a provisional employer-sponsored one that allows employers to nominate skilled workers.

Training Visa (Subclass 407)

Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457)
